Vocabs again. Because... What else?
Jan. 13th, 2016 12:50 amSo...
One of my colleague and lunch buddy resigned on Xmas day last year.
Sigh. Another less lunch buddy... :(
Still. That news was nothing compared to... *that* news.
Nevermind.
Vocabs.
The usually taciturn Ohno turned voluble upon encountering extreme hot or cold situations - a quality that the AnShi staff exploited frequently.
Ok, I didn't see taciturn in the GRE list... At least not yet. But it might be there. And it's a pretty new word for me. I actually encountered this on LJ when someone commented that she'd like to see Ohno act as something other than a taciturn, socially awkward guy.
taciturn - (of a person) reserved or uncommunicative in speech; saying little.
voluble - (of a person) talking fluently, readily, or incessantly.
The fans squealed in delight the moment Arashi appeared in gossamer costumes that showed off their biceps and nipples.
(I'm thinking of that particular concert when... Aiba was wearing see through, netting shirt that showed off his nipples... and Ohno's arms were showing... I think it was calling or something? Was is that monochrome - calling - paradox part in love concert? Idk...)
gossamer - characterized by unusual lightness and delicacy
Jun's smile was but a belie; he was deeply hurt by Sho's rejection.
Ok, I'm not sure if I the word usage/grammar is right...
Jun's gentle mannerisms belied his reputation as a DoS.
^^ Thanks
perkyandproud!
belie - (of an appearance) fail to give a true impression of (something).
The didactic teaching method further exacerbated Ohno's frustrations at being ordered around by the choreographer who was 9 years younger than himself.
As you probably already know. Arashi went to New York for the PARADOX choreography... It was choreographed by JaQuel Knight... Who is fortuitously the same age as me...
didactic - adjective: instructive (especially excessively)
fortuitous - adjective: occurring by happy chance; having no cause or apparent cause
