I'm sleepy. And not in a mood to do lab... but I have to...
Anyway, kenshin last night was great.
I totally crashed out after it. Even during the movie I was feeling sleepy. But I enjoyed it! All the lovely fighting scenes!
And what have we today? Apple event at 1am tonight (well tmr) Singapore time! New macbook maybe? And new iMac probably. I think a new ipad is a given, but I'm not looking to get an ipad any soon. My sis needs a new lappy though. She's totally taken over my dad's lappy. I would like a new desktop though I'm still ambivalent about getting one. I mean, my lappy is still perfectly usable. It just keeps micro hanging on me. Which is irritating. Esp when I'm constantly switching between programs. Sigh. I would love a new desktop of course. But it's not cheap... And do I really, really need a new desktop at the moment? Nope. Could my lappy hang on for another year, or two even? I think so. See the problem here? :X
Maybe you could say that's the good and bad thing about products that last too long? :X How old is my lappy again? I keep forgetting. mid 2010, that's what I said in an earlier post of mine. that's just 4 years. Long by current laptop standards I guess, which seems to normally become really cranky and dying once they hit the 2 year mark. But not THAT long. I guess it's worth the price though. It was roughly 1.6k++ sgd, so the makes out to roughly a dollar per day. The same reasoning is why I'm targeting a 3 year cycle of my iphone. Since i got the whooping most expensive 64 gb one which came up to over 900 bucks. I need to use it for at least 3 years to get the cost of ownership to less than 1 buck per day. If that way of calculation makes sense.
Almost a thousand bucks for a phone. Freaking darn expensive indeed. I do am pleased with it though. It's october now and that means i've had this phone for a whole year, and usage wise it doesn't feel any older than a day. It doesn't feel slow, it doesn't hang up. I don't see any marked decrease in battery life. I think it'll work perfectly fine for another year. The third year though is when things might start getting slow and all, as it happened with my old 3gs. Which is still acting as an ipod now. Yeah that thing is pretty darn slow now, but it's not laggy when playing my music and that's good enough for it's purpose. I just flick that thing to airplane mode (no sim card anyway) and the battery is good to last what, 3 or 4 days of music listening. That way I will still have my music even if my iPhone battery runs out. And I seriously get very cranky if I don't have my music when I'm outside.
Sigh. It's 2:40pm already. Just saw my friend feed. Yay for new subbing groups... but it seems like many old groups aren't so active anymore again. Sigh. I'm too sleepy to feel enthusiastic about anything. I guess I should get going to the lab.
