Work!

So work has started. Not met with the whole team yet, but those I've met seems genuinely nice. And its really the place for researchers. Jeans, t-shirt. Nothing fancy. Yeah, its the place for me. More research, less politics. At least I hope so. So far my team leader's been really nice. No experiments for me till I'm fully recovered. I cant do experiments with crutches anyway. So I've been reading papers and more papers. Reading them really slowly since its all new stuff to me. Yesterday I took like 5 hours to read a 21 page review paper. So slow... but yeah, slightly faster today. No time to go back to do reviews yet. On Sunday I was KOed by Enomoto, and then Monday and yest I was too tired after work to even touch my lappy. All in all things arent going too badly at the moment. And it seems like I'm allowed to install programs as I please on the comp. Which is very important to me. Already got my journal paper managing program mendeley in place. Sadly its a windows and not a mac. I'd have preferred a mac, since I have paid for apps like typinator and alfred. And I use those A LOT. I've downloaded phrase express but it's nowhere as good as typinator... it doesnt have the presets like typinator does and it'll take me way too long to duplicate that. Not sure if i can transfer it over but yeah well... It can read text expander files, but I aint using that though, only on my phone and i've only got a very limited number of arashi specific expansions there. I have also brought my own mouse from home, since the one I was given sucks. The scroll wheel wasnt even working properly. And I scroll a lot. And I need back and forward buttons, which of course the standard office mouse lacks. So yup, I brought my own mouse. The keyboard kinda sucks too, but I dont really have a spare keyboard at home to bring... *might* buy one to use at work, since its claimable. But that'll have to wait till I can walk and go shopping. Arghs. So much things I want to do but will have to wait till I can walk. Without crutches.

In other news. I have came up with new ideas to link two of my fics together. Like what am I doing at work right? Blogging on LJ and looking at my fics... and falling asleep while reading papers. My fics are all in my evernote anyway, which i've installed and am also using for proper work related purposes so yeah. :X
