Change is in the air

Finally. Moved lab benches to the smaller molecular lab. Much less crowded there and I finally have my own, official, bench. Last time I was assigned one, but it was full of stuff so I just continued using the sup's space which I cleared and cleaned up. Now the project last long ended, and he's starting to do experiments too and needs his bench... it just won't do to keep hogging his bench anymore. Adding on to that, I'm sick of my test tube racks going missing all the time. Seriously. Ice box too... and the PhD student also takng my autoclaved tips AND using new boxes before even finishing the old one AND leaving boxes OPEN. That just sucks and pisses me off! And then he used the icebox... and the styrofoam box cameback with a freaking chip. GRRR! That sucks cos I always fill up the ice to the top so that I can see the plate clearly!

Seems like there's new people coming in and I'll have a seat mate too. The name tag has already been put in. Hope that guy will be alright. I don't request for much, just someone who keeps to his own business. We don't do small talk in the office.... it's always as slient as a pin drop here, save for typing and clicking noises... and footsteps + the door opening and closing... since my seat is right next to the door. Not the no. 1 closest to the door seat though. But the no. 2 closest. Whoever will be my seat mate will be the no. 1 closest. In a way I'm looking forward to him coming... hopefully he's a nice guy and will go get the door whever someone knocks. Which happens REALLY often lol.

I'm really happy to have my own bench. Wanted to move for some time now but my 5ml pippette going missing + the constantly disappearing labracks was the last straw. Mass email sent out, but the pippette still has not shown up. I really think it's the FYP students who took it. Sheesh. They took a lot of pippettes from my old group. Talked to some other researcher and she can't stand the students too. They are constantly leaving their stuff all over the place, not cleaning up, hogging machines and lab benches.... terrible. Worst still their freaking mentor protects them! Hopefully my stuff won't go missing again now!

Congrats! And you should put a name or something on those pipettes, so you won't lose them anymore <3.

They are named already! Labeled with stickers with my big fat name!!! At the font of the pipette too so you will freaking see it everytime you use it! Heck. It even has serial numbers. Ad it was all noted down by the lab staff. And they sent that out too in the mass email.

Woa, even with the mass email that's being sent out, it's quite something that your pipette still doesn't show up!!

Maybe, you now have to mass email threat mails. Haha!!

Yeah... no idea who took it. Did someone just borrow it and left it lying around... or did the students took it? gah. but it should show up sooner or later...
