Finding more random stuff to translate!
Because I still don’t feel like doing abunai. Hahaha.
I was going to translate the short video message on jweb mobile, because the English subs for the video wasn’t out when I checked the other day… but it’s out now so I guess there’s no need. Plus it’s really just the usual promotion stuff anyway. Though Aiba did make a cute mistake in the middle. Said that I can’t see the long, full video. You need a Japanese address to sign up for the JFC. Oh wells. JFC? Johnny’s Family Club. Suddenly realised it sounds like KFC. Ha!
There’s tons of scans on KnH for me to download and translate… but magazine interviews thens to be… pretty long… blah.
Oh wells. How about I spam you with a truckload of photos instead? Literally truckload of photos. You have been warned.
At my workplace. They were covering that marble/stone slab wall (you can still see it here) with metal plates, and they sticking white and yellow plastic sheets over the metal. Didn’t take a photo of the finished work. But really I don’t get why the heck they did this. The stone slabs were perfectly fine as it was.
The souvenir I got from the Waters conference. It seems like this product is pretty popular now… but I don’t like sticking stuff to the back of my phone...
FOOD! Went to Itacho with my friend last month!

Random bicycle spotted in my uni.
I was super happy to add third party keyboards when the new iOS 8 came out. I have like, a ton of third party keyboards added now, all the gifs and what not. Not used them yet though… :X I am however, in love with SwiftKey. It’s my default keyboard now, and I’ve been extolling the virtues of SwiftKey everywhere… hahaha.
Korean food in my school canteen.
Posted this on DNA before. A DNA themed train! Hahaha.
That’s an old photo. *reaches for my phone to take a new one*Tada! 606 apps! Because I crazily downloaded a whole bunch of widget apps. Which I’ve not even added to the notification centre yet. Some will probably be deleted during my next round of cleaning. But when I clean stuff, it’s only because I want to download more apps. Or songs maybe. 248 MB free…. >< I think that’s not gonna be enough of rate Dig Italian. Maybe I’ll have to take out some concert rips. Just a little too many concert rips in my phone right now...
Ah this! Tokyu Hands! A new Japanese lifestyle shop that just opened in Westgate. Fine. It opened last month. I LOVE it. Got a lovely pen, nice and heavy the way I like it, and got the mitsubitsu pen refill to use with it. Love that refill. The ink is really smooth and all. And very dark. They sell really cute stuff, but the prices are not cute. 200++bucks for a nail clipper? A simple soap holder (granted, it’s made from some special clay) for like… 50 bucks?? Crazy! Exorbitant! But I love the stationary section. They sell so much more stationary, well at least a different selection from the usual Popular Bookstore. Pen refills especially! They have uniball and stuff, loads more refills that Popular (yes, that’s a name of a bookstore chain in Sg, they expanded to msia too) does not carry. Yes, I’ve bought a few pens and pen refills from there already. They sell cute stickers too, but not cheap either… well basically the stationary are the only ones that I’ve been interested in and are reasonably priced. I hope the shop will last though. Because I really love their stationary collection.
Ah wel went to a restaurant last month for my bday. Chinese restaurant. Yum tummy Yummy! That’s soup with 黄花鱼. Or yellow croaker as google tells me.
Deep fried fish with sweet honey sauce.
Braised tendon.
Braised pork that came in a pretty earthenware pot.
Steamed buns. To wrap the braised pork with. (well you can wrap anything in it though)
Mountain yam
Braised duck. We really ordered a lot of food eh? For the four of us. And we weren’t really big eaters! Was so full after that!
We went to shop around orchard road after that. And got our paws on the iPhone 6 and 6 plus for the first time (on display in shops). But well, what was really exciting was, again, the food. Spanish donuts! Churros! I love it!
Free tissue. Hahaha.
We visited the new shopping mall… Again, I forgot the name of the mall… it’s a narrow mall built between other malls, and spans across both sides of the road. So they built this pretty bridge linking the two sides together. The bridge has been used as a fashion runway already… but the other side of the mall isn’t finished yet, so it’s closed. Making the bridge a perfect photo taking spot. You won’t be able to do this after the other side opens with all the human traffic eh?
Yet another day, yet another restaurant. This one’s at crystal jade - la mian xiao long bao. Literally Crystal Jade, Chinese noodles and Xiaolongbao. Well. They have like, a ton of Crystal Jade restaurants. Different erm… versions if you wish? (Fine, their websites calls it culinary concepts) Each version has a different menu. Anyway, that pic above was the… okay. I forgot the name. if my memory doesn’t fail me it’s red bean inside. The crust is very crispy, it was pretty nice.
Noodles. With chicken, cucumber, and century eggs in a slightly spicy sauce (well, it’s chilli oil and a ton of other spices). I have no idea what they call it in English. Forgot what the translation used on the menu was. It’s called 口水鸡 in Chinese. Which literally means saliva chicken. And well that’s exactly what the name means in Chinese too… Unless you already know that it refers to this dish. Other wise you will just be wondering what’s with the chicken’s saliva. Or salivating chicken. Or is the chicken so delicious that it’s supposed to make you salivate? Idk. Normally dishes have more elegant names. At least elegant sounding in Chinese. But this… nope. Not elegant no matter which language you look at it from.
Hand made noodles with beef.
And so we continue on the random photo journey! Freeze dried fruits. Was pretty delicious, but kinda expensive considering how fast I finished it. Seems like freeze dried foods are pretty popular now. Funny how I just found out a few weeks ago that the freeze dryer in the lab, which is finally back to working order, was purchased with my group’s funds. You wouldn’t want to eat anything that’s been in our labs though. No freeze dried fruits from our labs, sorry.
Bday card! I was really surprised, to get a bday card from my friend overseas. Well, my friend, who’s my sis’s classmate.
Another lunch, this time it’s malay food from the NIE canteen.
Presents! My bday presents! From my sis and her friend! The same one who sent the owl card. They got this together when my sis went to Aussie for month long vacation with that friend earlier this year. So she’s been keeping this gift in her room for what, 2 months? I seriously was not expecting this.
Photo spam of the same few items coming up. Because the doggie is just too cute.
That blue egg! Well it’s a stone. Freaking useless but freaking nice stone. You can’t even use it as a paper weight? Because it rolls around and can’t stand. But it’s freaking nice, so heavy and blue! And cooling! When i get bored/frustrated/whatever i pick it up and press it against my palms and feel the nice, cooling surface of the stone. Egg. Stone egg. Ah yes the doggie. I thought it was like, an eye pillow of something at first, because I told my sister I wanted an eye pillow. (I stole one of her extra bolster and use it as an eye pillow while she was in Aussie though, and she’s not asked for it back so I assume it’s mine now.) But well, it’s actually a wrist rest! Fill with lavender! I’m using it right now. It’s perfect!
My dad got me gifts too.
I… don’t know what to make of his gifts though…
There’s the snail speaker with a 3.5 jack, mainly for use with phones. But the sound quality sucks… well it’s really loud and noisy. Like everything becomes more metallic? And noisy. I guess it’s great for outdoor listening? Like in noisy places. But the thing is… The only time I actually play music out loud is when I go to the toilet for my bath. But that happens really, really occasionally. And with this metallic noisy sound quality? Naw. I’ll just stick to using my iPhone. Or just bath w/o music as I do 99.99% of the time. I prefer using earphones most of the time… so… a speaker…? >< Well it was on offer when my dad renewed his membership though, that’s why he bought it. 10 bucks is cheap but still… T.T What am I supposed to do with it? I can’t like… give it away because my dad gave it to me ya know? And the clip. Cute, and I love magnets, it’s supposed to be for clipping earphone wires to your shirt and all, and can bend to form a handphone stand… but I don’t use handphone stands because I don’t watch videos from my phone, and so far I’ve still not used it to clip my earphone wire. That thing is just a bit too… big and not subtile for my taste… maybe I’ll try the next time I go for my walks….
Like… the last time… he gave me a wireless mouse. Despite him knowing perfectly well my preference for wired mouse (and the reasons why). It was a freaking expensive 80 bucks mouse too. Even the really expensive Mikoyan Foxbat mouse that I spurged on early this year only costs 60 bucks. And the thing is that, the wireless mouse was too heavy for me. After half a day of mousing my wrist was really sore. In the end I gave the mouse back to my dad and stuck to my wired mouse. Well at least he’s using it so the 80 bucks wasn’t wasted.
Ok ok, I know you’re screaming ‘Enough of blue doggies and eggs!!!’ already, that’s the last photo, of those few items!
From the senior RF who’s sitting next to me. Someone gave her a box of tea I guess. And she redistributes them. The thing about tea is. I never remember to remove the tea bags after 3 minutes, and the tea always ends up to thick that it’s pretty much undrinkable. Especially for a caffeine intolerant person like me. T.T
Went to collect my JLPT cert the other day… more photos on that later.
The national library.
Happy Caramel Pony Rainbow! An internal joke among us Mafias. And just my luck to spot that rack of rainbow coloured ponies on sale.
I went to saveur with my friend! And we spotted this shop beside saveur! J’s by jheili aka J, and her beloved (imaginary) husband Jun, aka J. Hahahaha! What a truckload of Js! Hahaha!
The cute menu of Saveur. It’s a French restaurant, first time visiting it. The food is good and the prices are very reasonable.
Cream of mushroom soup
And pasta for the entrée. Yes. I ate A LOT that day. I had no idea the pasta was such a huge serving. But in either case I WAS feeling like being a glutton so…
The duck was really good. Like my sis sad, it’s like the Chinese Jinhua ham. Loved it.
We had this too! Yummy!
Spotted outside kino. I just love these nano blocks. So cute. Kinda pricey though T.T
The daruma nano block is CUTE!
Spotted at H&M. Raffles colors bow tie. See the school tie in this photo.
Ah… I think I shall stop here for now. I’ll continue in a part 2 later/next time i guess… :X
