Disturbia

Yes, I'm still disturbed by Kyo no hi wa sayonara. Somehow its affecting me a lot more than the rest of the 24 hr dramas... or the special touching series that nino acted in. On the bright side... i learned that passive euthanasia is allowed in Japan. Its not in Sg though. But we practically spent like 3 years of our lives discussing about these ethics stuff for English in sec sch, and then General Paper aka English in junior college. I was quite surprised myself that I didn't know its allowed in Japan considering all the shit we learned back then... but I guess we only focused on what... the Netherlands... where active euthanasia is approved of. There's quite some debate in Sg previously about the topic.. palliative care, euthanasia and the lot. Meh. That's the only thing I can talk about now. The rest is just too... depressing. I guess it's coupled with the effect that I've been imagining Ohno sick and hospitalized for my fics and all. And then bam, I see him all sick and dying (and dead) in the drama. I wonder if spewing blood from your nose is really the first signs of blood leukemia though. Gotta read that up some time.

On a less depressing topic, I was contemplating why I'm so fond of Kagi Heya yesterday. One reason was that I'd always love detective stories. Not just stories about detectives you know, but the mystery of having to solve the crime and all... Always loved to read those mystery solving books when i go to the library as a kid. You know the ones by the publisher starting with U? I always pronounced it as 'u-sorb-ban' but of course that's just a pronunciation I made up. (Ah found it, its Usborne!) The detective handbook was also something I read cover to cover multiple times... My sis was like 'but Maou was also a detective story'. But not really. Ohno's role was more of just killing and killing... and there's no scientific explanation and ok. Ok, it is a detective story, but not like Kagi Heya type of 'here's a crime, now I'll solve it and show you how it's done' kinda thing, which is exactly what attracts me so much. Cos it's just like reading those Usborne mystery books - as much as I loved reading those, I never had the patience to solve them myself and always jumped straight to look at the answers. So its fine with me even if some details are not presented to the audience in a way that enables you to solve the crime together with Enomoto. Like they show Enomoto looking intently at the golf club, but they never filmed the cut mark on the golf club till when he presented his case. Though I guess you still can solve it with enough deduction skills. But I don't have that unfortunately. Still, love how everything is very scientific and nothing is made up. As far as I can tell, everything is sound and logical. And I even learnt stuff from there. Like the LCD screen emitting polarized light thing. Never knew exactly how these screens worked till I checked it up yesterday to verify the sunglasses thing.

Been progressing well with my fic. Till yesterday evening that is. Stuck at this hospital scene part. Been writing about Ohno being sick for like... the whole week already. And these hospital scenes are like... the hardest to write for me. Yet I love making them sick so much. Gosh I'm a sadist ain't I? I had to stop myself from making Ohno get beaten up too badly because my fic has barely started and having him beaten up right at the start will affect the rest of my story ><. Currently at 15k words now. Gosh... I need to finish up this series of hospitalization scenes else I'd never get the story going. 15k words and I've barely began. I really wonder if I'm too... long winded, too detailed. But I guess that's what happens with me. i visualize a scene playing out in my head and then I try to describe it as I have imagined. Paid quite a fair bit of attention to the cinematography as I watched the 24 hr drama yesterday. It was really good. Like how they expressed the 80% in an easy to understand manner, and then relating the percentages to real world stuff like the drink machine lottery - which is pretty cool, the vending machines in Sg are really boring. They have all sorts of interesting vending machines in Japan yeah... And then the 40% off and the string hanabi going off... and the van knocking the fallen umbrella off the road... makes me want to put all these small details in my fic, but then I don't think I'm really capable of that. Oh wells.

Wonder if I should have watched that drama yesterday... kinda depressing and I have a weekend of cleaning ahead of me *shudders*. CNY is coming next week and I've not packed my room. Sigh.
