I can't say I'm surprised by the suspension enacted by the powers that be over at the other place.
I won't delete my LJ because there are many old comms whose mods won't move at all on grounds that their comms are old, locked to the hilt and defunct, and thus making any move pointless (or so they say). And I still want access to them.
But it looks like I was right in my initial assessment to cease checking LJ completely.
