Gosh.
It's been a...
Pretty unproductive weekend?
I did managed to get a teeny bit of work done... but still...
Tmr is gonna be a busy day in the lab.
Maybe it's cos I'm nervous about next week...
I can't get in the mood to get anything done.
At all.
Sigh.
Attended a two day seminar last week. Well. One and a half days.
Saw James Watson in person. Well Sydney Brenner too. The whole symposium was celebrating the life of Sydney Brenner. But well... this ignorant person didn't know a thing about that guy till this symposium. But I do know Watson. Watson and Crick. The duo who came up with the double helix structure of DNA. All without doing a single experiment. Lol.
It's nice to be in the presence of giants.
Though day 2 of the seminar wasn't as interesting... plus I was really tired. I pretty much fell asleep at the 2nd half of every talk. Lol.
I did buy some molecular bio books that were on offer though. Esp the lab manuals. Those would be useful for years to come. Bought one on cell culture, and the other on 'synthetic biology'. Whatever that's supposed to mean. I did see protocols on bacteria transformation and PCR though...
Well, I did do quite a bit of stuff on the lappys though. Updated the OS to El Capitan, and updated some apps... and disabled the SIP so that I could use my TotalFinder once more. Also transferred the fonts from my lappy to my dad's. And took the opportunity to install all the fonts from the apps in the app store that I got long ago. And then I spent some time downloading some additional Chinese and Japanese fonts. So now dad's lappy has a grand total of 1673 fonts. *shrugs*
Now I have more choices when doing picture texts for Tumblr I guess... *shrugs*
That is, provided I'm not trying to do it at work... lol
Then again, unsup is coming back in less than 2 weeks. I'll be BUSY after that. LOL.
