Woots it's finally the weekend. Crazy busy week at work again. Friday would have been crazy too, with me having to rush loads of experiments before attending a talk in the afternoon. But as luck would have have it, the lightcycler broke down on Thursday evening... and I was told to pause on the other set of experiments for the other group. Yes I'm like helping two groups now... though not officially part of any. Lol. I don't even know how things stand but... I have work to do, and loads of it so yeah. Work tends to always come all at the same time too -.-
So I'm sorting out my loot from last week's IT show. Still have yet to pack my table and set up my new table lamp... already did use my new 2 TB HD though. Took me DAYS but finally managed to transfer all my stuff from the old 2TB HD out. And reformatted it. I have yet to check if it's working like... properly now. But it wasn't last time so... I'm just glad I managed to save all my files out. So now I have 2 2 TB HDs and a 500 GB HD. Yay! That should last me for a while... the old non-portable HD though... IDK what to do with it... Man... Not sure if I should risk it with my files... pffffft.
It's funny how some people are so... sad, so pathetic that they are boosting about some new asus lappy they got last August... with like 4 GB ram. My 5 year old lappy already has 4 GB ram? What's new? I though windows laptop these days comes with way more than 4 GB ram already. What sort of old model is that? Even the new Apple macbook has 8 GB ram... and if you know anything about Apple/technology, you'll know that Apple computers are always lagging behind others in the number games. And franky, 4 GB is NOT ENOUGH. Heck even 8 GB is not enough when it comes to me... this crazy geeky who runs a million and one programs at once. I can't even run 3 browsers at once anymore because my lappy doesn't quite enough ram.
I'm looking at the Apple iMac and new Macbook pro specs and still undecided what to get. Well I'm waiting for sept/oct.... I believe the 21.5 inch iMac would get a refresh then... But well... do I need the portability? >< Sigh. My sis got the macbook pro with retina display, and we upgraded the ram to 16 gb... the storage was upgraded to 512 gb too... But see with the iMac you get 1 TB of storage... and it's a quad core VS a dual core processor. But that's the current iMac model though. We'll see if Apple upgrades anything when it changes to retina display. Looking at the past trends... it will definitely be upgraded to retina display too. But ahhh the long wait. My phone too. Though I'm actually having a lot of fun with my Xiaomi. I'm using a freaking crazy 3 phones now. And I'm kind of worried about it when I'm going overseas later this year. Three phones! If I misplace it or it gets stolen? Gosh my parents will kill me! Xiaomi to play around with... 4S as my phone with the sim card, and 3GS as a mp3 player. Three phones lololol!
I leaning towards getting an iMac still... higher specs for the same price. And then once I get the new comp... I'll probably clean up this lappy a little. Ok not just a little. A lot. Then it should get much zippier... and I will probably expand my windows bootcamp compartment and then I can use this lappy to play maple again. If I have the time that is... but these days... I have too many things to do to play anymore. Too many things that I want to learn, do and set up. Meh.
