finally understand why the company has been around for 3 years but still doesn’t have a core staff team. because nobody likes to work with someone like my boss. who exploits people in every way she can...
as if working till 8 or 9pm everyday previously wasn’t enough for her, she sends tons of emails like way after work hours and then asks you why they have gone unanswered the next morning. that is just ridiculous. and its not like she's paying a lot. its way below market rate.
my impression of her completely changed after the xenograft study thing. everything was driven and decided by her, most of the things she started the ball rolling, and then when things didn’t go well, she pushes the blame to ask and says why we are not performing up to standard, why we didn’t plan properly blah blah blah. when we were just following her instructions.
and she changes her mind faster then i can change clothes.
and now there's only me, and another new staff working on the business side of things. so I'm like the ONLY staff left. the china guy has stuff to attend to in his home country and wont be back till sept... IF his employment pass gets approved. its like, he gave my boss all the details for employment pass application, but she didn’t bother to do a thing about it. then he asks again a few months later, and eventually fills up all the forms (even chopped on the company stamp himself), scanned everything nicely... and passed it to my boss. all that's bloody hell left for her to do is to log into the government portal and upload those documents. and after two weeks she still couldn’t be bothered to do it. in the end my co-worker had to submit the hardcopy himself. RIDICULOUS i tell you. she keeps saying how gd and impt he is to our team (which is true), and yet can't even be bothered to get him the employment pass? previous he was interning in the company, and she treated and used him like a staff, and then decided to stay on... so he was already working illegally for some time... and after all that shit ppl did for her she can't even be bothered to apply EP for him? F***ed up indeed. Too busy? my foot! how long would that upload take? and all the times we actually worked later than her while she went off for dinner etc already... It’s a small company, and i don't see any way it's gonna grow. No wonder everyone leaves like after a few months. gosh. its like after she's done working me like a slave for the grant proposal she can scold us and what not. Hello! we were writing the fking proposal for your company project while you went for some stupid music concert at the polish embassy cos they are supposedly our clients and very important people. and that was on Sunday, the very day the proposal was due! instead of writing with us, we wrote like bulk of the thing. Heck, i wrote the bulk of it. Wrote like 80% of the thing, 15% was the china guy, and 4% was other collaborators and outsiders, 1% was from my boss. bloody fuck. and she takes all the credit naturally. but when she fucks up as with the xenograft thing (ordered the mice way too early), its our fault. i keep telling her its her fault and she goes like 'why are you defending others instead of our own team' and 'you shouldn’t say things like that to your superiors during team meeting'. Than why do you fucking ask me that during the team meeting? and keep saying its my fault for not planning properly when everything is controlled by her... and she just doesn’t realise its her own faultly way of conducting business. sigh.
i guess i need to look for a new job soon. i mean. just looking at how she likes to push the blame to others and all, i don't even know how long i can stay. or maybe she wont have a choice since like if she sacks me, there'll be no one left in the company (trololol).
i did contact my fyp prof and guess what? she intro-ed me to another prof and between the two of them, they are willing to take me in as a phd student! that would be perfect no doubt, BUT the sad thing is, i screwed up in uni and only got a 2nd lower hons. and like all the phd programs in sg needs 2nd upper hons and abv. so even with the profs supporting me, I'm not sure if i can get in. same for masters... 2nd upper and abv... gosh... i really really want to do a phd! and that's regardless of whether this job turns out well or not. its always been my end goal, just... don't ask me why i wasn’t thinking about my grades in uni sighz. any way to savage the situation? T.T taking this online biostats course now, but I'm not sure if small stuff like this will help... but at least its better than nothing right? oh wells...
