Spammmed!

Gosh.

Feels like such a busy day online today.

Fans are totally spamming the AFPM whatsapp group. And the SF mods group on LINE is pretty noisy too. And then of course... there's facebook. And then I have sky_fish7 chatting me up on LINE too, thanks dear! Happy New Year! And people posting new year FB status greetings... and other people sending (ok, and me sending too) new year greetings from all over...

Yeah... it's a good time to catch up with old friends.

Good thing I made the (lousy) picture... I'm sending it to everyone now. LOL.

Anyway...

Back track a little to Xmas even last Thursday.

Was a half day...

I actually reached the office early. Like. Early by my standards. Because 1) I had a lot of work to do. 2) Dad took the day off so he fetched me to work.

So yes. I reached the office like at 9:15. And before I even stepped into the office. I felt that something was wrong.

The main office door was jammed open. Alarms blaring. And the person sitting closest to the door wasn't doing anything about it.

Ok...

So I walk into the office. And saw the lab executives sitting in the pantry area. One. Two. All three of them. Their office area is actually in the lab. One floor down. They shouldn't be here...

So why?

Turns out that...

There's something wrong with the electronic lock system.

Everyone is locked out. Everyone.

Even the main office. Our office. The lab... The (PhD) students were locked out of the students office too.

Only that the lock seemed to have occured at 7:30 am. And some researchers were somehow in the office before that. And they opened the door from the inside (thankfully that is working, or there'll be locked in!) for us. So yeah.

So...

I sat there in the office...

Someone was talking to the lab execs and took my chair. So well. What do I do? Take unsup's chair of course. She's on leave anyway. Duh. Else she'd be there already. She's early remember?

So I sat there in the office. Thinking how I'd very much like to just go home.

Except that...

I was thinking I might have time to measure the dna concetrations the day before... and I kept my samples at 4 degrees, instead of minus 20. And I had samples running a reaction overnight in the thermal cycler. Which I can't leave as is for the whole long weekend.

In other words. I'm screwed.

*Sigh*

So I waited.

The issue was resolved at 10 am...

And then it was a mad rush for me to finish everything that I'd originally planned to do...

Minus the dna concentration measurement. Lol.

And this week.

Well. Unsup came to me last thursday... with instructions for this week. Because I won't see her at all this week. (Have I said this already?)

She worked this Monday when I was on leave. Started some experiments, and left me tasks to complete.

Usually I'd be able to finish them all...

But see.

I totally forgot that I was on loan this Tuesday... So I spent the whole Tuesday afternoon doing microscopy for someone else. And yeah. I can't finish all the stuff unsup gave me. Too much to do. And too tired. Gosh. Tuesday was pretty crazy. Loads of samples... sampling really late. I actually got my Miyagi Blast dvd on Tuesday morning. Well, they attempted to deliver it to me on Monday, but we were out. And no one noticed the slip of paper on the floor, under the shoe rack, till when I was putting on my shoes on Tuesday morning. Thankfully they put the parcel in a POPstation - a mail lock of sorts. And it was nearby too. Just a little ways off from the mrt station. So yeah. I picked it up before work, and was trying to tear open the box while on the train. Photos and more over here. Since I made the post on NM I'm too lazy to repeat it here...

So yeah... Watched a little of the video yesterday... But I got home pretty late too, and went to bed after watching less than half of it. Only got till the part when they were singing GUTS. They cut out the music station talk with Tamori-san. But the ad libs and stuff are identical to the mstay perf so yes, it's still the 23rd Sept performance.

Anyway... So today... I didn't have that much stuff to do... Since I tried to do most of it yesterday... I made it such that if the doors failed again I could leave straight away... But no such luck this time hahaha! I was aiming to finish by 11am but no... took me till 11:45 am to finish everything up. Then met up with mum and dad for lunch. Shopped around a little and then came home. Upon which I was so tired (for some unknown reason) that I just collapse and slept on my bed. For three whole hours. Then was bath, dinner... and yes. All the online 'duties' I had to do.

All done now I guess...

Post on NM done... Wished happy new year to a bunch of people, on a bunch of social media platforms...

Finished updating on LJ...

Ah yes. I'll make a seperate post about my new year resolutions.

But maybe I'll head to bed first. It's past 3 am after all...

And then I've got Miyagi blast to work on tmr. And the day after. And the day after the day after. Lol.

Then again I'm not THAT tired after the long nap. Oh wells.
