Updates and a million things

So. DNA has reached 500 members at long last! We are growing at such a slow rate hahaha! No flood of members after the comm opened. Even after posting about the triple release I only got… 30-40 members the next day! Aw… :P

On one hand I kinda envy those groups that have 2000 members in a really short while (i.e. by having open membership). But that’s really not the route I want to go down. Its okay so long as I have people who appreciate my work, and I believe we’ll get there eventually someday. I’m here for the long term after all! Its… amazing. I was looking at my reviews master post and… its amazing. Its been over a whooping two years since I did my first review! The very first review was posted on 4th of May 2012! Of the previous day’s VSA! Two whole years… where did all the time go! Two years and 32 reviews, with a huge, long break in 2013 because of work… I’ve wrote more reviews that I have fics! Hahaha! 

Fics too… 29 fics and now finally posting my first chaptered one… I can’t believe that I’ve wrote so many already! I’m in deep trouble for the chaptered fic though… with the translations (i.e. subs) and all, I’ve not been finding the time to edit my fic! Used to have loads of time to write it at work, but not a chance now. Super busy trying to finish qPCR for all my samples… I counted today, because I like to keep track of all these random stuff… that as of today I’d have ran a total of 69 qPCR plates… in the short… roughly… 3 months? or so? 69!!! Can you believe it? That’s what… almost a plate a day? And I have other experiments to do too ya know! I swear every one else in my institute doesn’t even run that many in an entire year! And most of my plates are full plates too… Three more to complete a set, and after that another 13 more full plates… and hopefully I don’t have to repeat any cos that’ll mean I need to run more plates! And there’ll be more samples coming in still… ahhh when will I ever be able to finish! The other lab executive has already started working fully with another group. But I’m still here. With a lot of experiments to run. Sigh.

Oh a hilarious thing happened at work yesterday. One of the lab managers sent out an email asking people to clear their benches, and she posted photos of the ‘minimum’ standard lab benches should have. And I was like ‘did she post my bench?’, and lo and behold she did! Only then did I realise that… that wasn’t my official bench! My assigned bench is somewhere else, covered full of random stuff used by other people in my group. Hahahah. I wasn’t assigned any bench when I started, so I just cleared my supervisor’s bench and ‘declared’ it as my own because he doesn’t use the space at all anyway. So his bench is all nice and neat. And then today I went out with that manager for lunch and she was like ‘wait that photo! I thought it was your bench because you were always using it!’ Me: I am! Her: ‘Then I remembered your bench was at the edge!’ Me: Yes! I was like damn it, but that’s not my official bench! Her: ‘Just swap the name tags! Swap it!’
Hahahahhaa! We had quite a laugh for a while about it! XD

Okays. Enough pictures for today I guess! Words of the day! Been wanting to post these words for a loooonnnggg time but as usual, procrastination wins the day. 

There has been way too many words that I’ve searched the meaning of now that I’m doing the subs, so these are just a few selected words. 

トルコ (toruko)- Turkey. Not the bird that you eat at Christmas! But the place!
Second time I came across this word and hard to check the meaning, cos I forgot it the first time round after I checked! The first time was… during VSA or something? I can’t remember… but the second instance came in the Nino-san review I did. When the newbie AD went to eat Turkish ice cream! XD

零れ (こぼれ,kobore) - Spill, leftovers. 
This came during the 8th June Aiba Manabu. And I think they were referring to this word in the short Music Day promotion clip I did when they were like yelling ‘tadabore’ over and over again. And I tried search over and over but I couldn’t for the death of me find what ‘tadabore’ meant. Until that was finished and released and I was doing Aiba Manabu. Damn! On hindsight now I guess they meant ‘tada kobore’? But back then me searching for ‘tada bore’, or more specifically ‘bore’ yielded no results…. damn!

皺 (しわ, shiwa) - wrinkle; crease. ripple
Again, appeared in that same Aiba Manabu episode. They were trying to straighten out the ripples on the edge of the frying pan!

生まれ変わり (うまれかわり, umaremawari) - Rebirth; reincarnation.
Last word for today! They’ve used this word before in their shows and I’ve searched the meaning before…  but when I came across the word again during Sho’s shampoo CM I was once again wondering if it meant ‘born again and changed’ or just ‘born again’ and I had to check to be sure. Because this phrase is made of two parts! 生まれ (うまれ) means born, and 変わり (かわり) means change…. so yeah. But I guess when you are reborn you are already changed… hahaha! XD 

Arghs. The big reason why this post took so long before I finally wrote it was the lack of a good mobile app... else I would just make the post on my phone, instead of having to connect my phone to my lappy so that the pictures will be transferred over... pfft... why does LJ get so little love? :(

1 week left to go...

1 week of videos left to watch! 1 episode of AnS, Aiba manabu, and Nino-san left to watch! And then today's to be aired VSA... and then LOVE DVD! And i'll slowly catch up on TSD later... hohoho! Finally getting up to date! Yay!

Had a nap before dinner else I really wouldn’t dare to stay up till so late! Was sooo tired out at work today... oh I mean, yesterday.

National day is in two days... and for my uni it’s a holiday in lieu on Monday! My sis wants to go watch the conan movie, but it only opens from today till next wedn... such a freaking short period of time! We'll either go on Friday evening or Monday I think? Yay that'll be the first conan movie that I'm watching hahahaha! But still I'm interested to watch okay! Been reading the manga. I should re-read it in its original Japanese glory someday. Together with the Japanese bakuman manga I bought a long time ago. But still not read it yet... :X Opps. Hey at least I read the platinum data and sherlock manga! Though I should re-read both again and note down all the new vocabs... I only did for the first few... pages of platinum data last time.

Alrights. Time to head to bed!

Kiseki!

I just download Kiseki by Greeeen the day before, cos I love Nino's cover so much. The original is really nice too! And well yesterday, I was watching the AnS with Sato Takeru on it... the one where they went to the batting center and Ohno was poking Jun's butt.... that was one hell of a funny episode... from Nino and his air con remote controls... and we finally getting to see skinny Neen's arms... he rarely wears sleeveless! Cos he's too skinny hahahaha!

But anyway... lo and behold! Kiseki was playing when Sato was batting! I was like 'OMG THAT's THE SONG I'VE BEEN LISTENING TO ALL DAY!' Well not all day literally. I listened to 'my songs knows what you did in the dark' for two whole days - just that one song on replay, but yesterday I changed it to a list of 7 songs on replay, including both Kisekis. And right now the original is playing XD

Ah I just love this song! Another ones of my new addiction! Shounen by Keitaku is really nice too. Love the original as well as Neen's rendition. So many new unofficial songs that I've discovered cos I was doing the mixlr broadcasts! Like Hoshi ni Naru Made and Doko ni Itemo from Sho Beat... love em loads too!

Scammers alert!

So I was first warned by krystalkatz about this... well actually I did come across the FB user Sho Aiba Boa once in one of the groups I joined, she had friended me and so I unfriended her. I wasn't sure if she was really a scammer then but now... With so many complains it has to be a really serious issue. She must have been scamming a lot of people!

Original post on facebook here. Sad to say, that Bao person is a Singaporean and is mainly targeting Singaporean buyers. Watch out for these Facebook names, and don't buy stuff from them!
