Nino-san 6th July 2014 Part 1

So I had planned to do this earlier today. But a brunch turned shopping trip turned out being way longer than I initially anticipated. And I collapse dead (read: asleep) on the bed from 7pm till like… 9:45pm so...

Arghs I’m still almost a whole month behind in my Arashi TV shows watching, but its been too long since I did a review, and this episode of Nino-san seems really fun, so here I am!

Also we’ll… Let me throw in some advertisement!

I decided to go into subbing! And maybe… about a month after I just started in a group, I decided to strike it out on my own and make my own subbing community. You might have already heard of it/joined already but anyways… DNA! An eccentric little group set up by eccentric little me. Read and follow the membership post to join, thank you. I hate it when people miss out stuff… its faster for me to accept people than reject, but reject people I will. Well just be sure to follow all the instructions and you won’t have trouble getting in!

There has been a lot of new subbing groups recently so I’d try not to do reviews of stuff that’s already been subbed…. so enough of this talk, I bring you my first review of Nino-san!

So! A little intro to Nino-san! If you’ve not watched this program before, I recommend it to you! Its in its second season now and I love it! I love Aiba manabu too! I initially wanted to review an episode of it, but I ended up trying to sub it instead, it’s still halfway in the subbing process now but I hope to release it soon.

But yes, its Nino-san that we are talking about today. In the first season, Nino works with a different director in each episode, so each episode is a completely different theme, different set, different… everything. In the second season, he gets to work with each director for two episodes (I’m pretty sure its shot in the same day still though, but each episode is only a bite sized 30 mins). So that’s the great thing. You don’t get bored! If you don’t really like a theme, it’ll be over in another episode and something new (and hopefully more interesting) will come up. And most of it has been really interesting to me thus far. Of course conversely the good stuff goes away too… but mostly its more good stuff coming up so that’s fine ;)

Recently the opening has been starting with Nino filming himself in the greenroom, and that’s the case today (by today, I mean this episode, as readers of my past reviews would have figured by now?) as well.

(Ah I miss writing all these random stuff in reviews! Yeah, that’s the reason I will still attempt to do reviews, on top of doing subs, and on top of trying to keep up to date with watching Arashi shows - currently this episode of Nino-san is the most up to date Arashi show i’ve watched, so yeah, I’m quite behind, on top of doing mixlr Internet radio broadcasts, and of course, on top of work…)

Anyway, the theme of the day is trip planning! Neen took part in some locations shooting too. It’ll be the first location shot for Nino since this program started!

Today’s title is Quiz Ikiataribattabi… we’ll see what they are doing in a while haha!

These four are the panelist… whatever they are gonna do haha.

So its about planning a trip, without any prior knowledge of the place!

This isn’t a travel package planned by a pro. Its gonna be done by someone with zero prior knowledge! 

Its gonna be a trip to Hokkaido!

Who else better to plant he trip than this guy? 

N: it’s the music day rehearsal… 

Hahaha look at him just… sitting (or should I say, melting?) there like a piece of jelly! And his wrists sure bend back a lot. 

With no proper knowledge of Hokkaido, our little brat is just gonna plan on whim! 

N: Lavander field. 

N: Let’s do a drive?

N: Eat ramen? 

N: Take a dip in the onsen (hot spring)? 

Narrator: It doesn’t matter if this trip is possible or not!

In just 2 minutes he came up with a 2 day 1 night trip plan!

So planning done! Now both Nino in video and Nino in studio are wondering who’s going on the trip!

N: Honestly I hate this kind of decision making stuff!

HAHHAHAHAHAHA!

And here, a quiz!

Nino got it right!

She’s Ikuina Akiko (IA), a mother of one and been in the entertainment industry for 29 years!

IA: This time Nino-san has purposely planned a trip for me. The best Hokkaido trip. 

Text: That’s wrong
Meanwhile Nino burst out laughing.  

IA: And he planned really put in a lot of effort in the planning

Others in the studio: Nope, he did it in just 2 mins!

IA: There isn’t such a thing is it? I’ll also do my best!
Meanwhile… someone off camera laughed really loud :P 

So let’s go! On a 2 day 1 night trip in Hokkaido!

So they show the video of Nino’s ‘planning’ once more...

Off IA goes in a rental car!

She’s heading to Furano!
N: Somehow it looks like a travel program! 

She finally reached Farm Tomita after an hour.
N: Wow it takes an hour!

However here… they’ve already their first mistake. Or should i say, Nino already made his first mistake. 

The lavenders are not in bloom! It’s the wrong season! 

IA: But there’s a little purple

IA: Look if i bend down like this, isn’t there some lavender? Look!
Narrator (MC - because narrator is too long and N is used up by Nino): Reporting with all her might on the lavenders that aren’t in bloom!

 IA: But you can smell the scent! Even just for this scent I feel thankful.

Gosh. Such a nice person. Hahahha poor thing! She’s going to get totally… played by Nino’s 2 minute planning ><

She looks at the schedule for the next venue. 

Let’s see where Nino sent her for lunch hahahaha!

Since Nino knows nothing about Hokkaido, she’ll have to look for a shop herself!
IA: I’ll have to decide myself?
Staff: yes
IA: Eh? Anything is fine?
Staff: Anything is fine.

So she went to a restaurant around there…. and now for another quiz! Q: What did IA order? 

Option 1: 100% Kami furano pork hamburger.

2: Furano wagyu braised in red wine. 

3: Special omu rice

4: stone grill curry

They’ve made their choices! 

The correct answer is no. 4! Stone grill curry!

THIS LOOKS DELICIOUS! I want supper now!

Just look at the cheeseeeeee! *drools*

IA: Its spicy but there’s a gentle sweetness

Here… something big is up in the plan again…
N: Let’s go see Kuramoto Sou. Because he’s living there.  MC: Nino-san knows Kuramoto-san personally. (He’s a screenwriter. See here)

But of course, IA doesn’t know him!
IA: Eh? I’ll be making the phone call?
Staff: Yes
IA: To his company?  And so she makes the call!

While waiting… let’s do that. What? That. 

N: So, let’s see the cows too?
Someone: Like a kid!
 Nino was just literally laughing so loud here. 

N: Uwah this is really messed up!

IA: Because you said ‘Ja let’s see the cows too’, I came and see it.
Girl in bot left corner: She’s a little angry!
HAHAHHAHAHAHA! MC: Without a complain, she is following Nino-san’s trip that was planned in 2 minutes
N: She’s really looking at the cos very seriously!
Oh gosh this is hilarious! 

Quiz!

Q: After waiting for an hour, what was the reply from Kuramoto Sou-san’s secretary?

1. Will meet. 2. Won’t meet.

Nino picked one because he came up with the idea hahaha. 

She’s falling asleep in the car! 

The call came! 

The secretary asked Kuramoto-san, but because it was too sudden, her request was turned down. 

Next up! Asahi Yama zoo!

Staff: Its supposed to be that but, sadly today we can’t go to the zoo.

N: EH?

Because they took too long with trying to contact Kuramoto-san, the trip to the zoo has to be cut! 

Let’s see what Nino said about the zoo. 

HAHAHA this is hilarious. Totally random.

N: Pick the best 3 animals that’ll be really popular in 2-3 years time. 

Staff: Ninomiya-san thinks that everything will take very little time!

IA: How big does Ninomiya-san think Hokkaido is? 
HAHHAHAHA! She finally starts to realise that Nino was clueless about Hokkaido when he planned. N: Eat ramen.
AD: Where?
N: Hokkaido.

HAHAHHAHAHA

This episode is just cracking me up so bad! AD: No, which part of Hokkaido? 

*glances at the map*
N: Of course its Sapporo right? IA: Sapporo????!!!!

IA: From here to Sapporo? 

Staff: *softly* 3 hours… 
HAHHAHAHAHAHAHA Gosh Nino you are totally torturing the guest!!!! 

N: You’re kidding!

So… just for the sake of eating ramen… she drove ~120km from Furano to Sapporo. Just look at how dark it’s become! 

And even then, its not so easy to eat the ramen!

Let’s see what Nino says this time hahahhaa. Like seriously? Everything Nino said so far is such a joke! So hilarious! I pity IA though! 
 N: A recommendation from the locals. 5, no let’s do 3 votes. 

Just look at him laugh after he suggested that!

N: Go to the famous shop that got 3 votes. 

Gosh. Initially I thought he just wanted to ask recommendations from the locals but NO! The recommended place needs to get 3 votes first! You bet Nino would not have said this if he was going on the trip. Oh man. The staff should totally haven made him go instead! That would have been hilarious to the max! We’ll get to see himself complaining about all the random crap he said! HAHAHHAHA! 

It is now 10pm! Gosh she must be starving already! 

So now IA is gonna ask which ramen shop to go to...

Guy in top right: This trip is too cruel! 
Indeed. that’s bratty Nino for you hahaha. Now you know who in Arashi NOT to go on trips with. I guess there’s a reason why Nino only stays at home playing games all day long. I’d go with Sho and Jun if I want a trip that’s really… packed and you are guaranteed to accomplish something (like visit all the attractions possible etc, esp with Sho)…. and Aiba for free and easy. Ohno? If it’s a fishing trip I guess? XD And Nino? We’ll just stay at home and play games hahahaha XD 

IA: Its getting really late and I wish the 3 votes will get in fast

This guy sealed it! 3 votes for Shingen! Just as the girl noticed with the night photo! (i.e. the rest were photos found from else where and not taken during this trip)

Yup, the correct answer is 2!

Its been 6 hours since she left Furano. Finally she gets to try the ramen!

And how about the sleeping arrangements tonight? XD

N: Go to the onsen? (hot spring)

AD: Ok

N: Somehow it feels like it’s the two of us going now. 

The nearest onsen is in Otaru.

Now its 12:30am! With a bitter laugh, IA announces that she has reached. 

Here’s how the place looks like when you know… the sun is still up :P

They are staying in Kura Murei 

It’s a beautiful hotel. They modernised the tradition Japanese style. 

IA got scared/amazed by the auto door. 

She’s getting excited even though its in the middle of the night! XD 

They have a huge open air bath there!

While its great to smooth your weariness in this onsen… IA only managed to catch 3 hours of sleep! Poor thing! Seriously Nino!!!! XD

It’s the second morning now. Let’s see what Nino has planned for the day :P

Let’s see the last mission from Nino.
N: How about going there? It’ll be the first thing in the morning. Shall we go and see? It’ll be good to eat there and see how much we can eat.  N: An early meal, in a good way. 

He bursts out laughing again after that XD
 

It’s the market!

Shop owner: Please take a look inside
IA: Is it alright? I’m not going to buy anything though!  MC: So will she be able to have breakfast this way? 
HAHAHHAA as expected from stingy Nino! Free food tasting for breakfast hahahahaha!
N: Do your best! Fresh hotate (scallop) that was just caught today!

MC: Amazingly just by taking a look, hotate GET in 30 seconds after starting! 

MC: This is the power of being an entertainment personality. 
IA: It goes ‘kyu kyu kyu’ in the mouth! Let’s see the kindness of the people here!

IA: Everything has been completed. Thank you very much!

Nino apologises for his thoughtless planning. XD

He was thinking that it’ll be a comedian (I guess?) going instead. 

N: (He’ll go) It’s a cow! It’s a cow! It’s a cow!

Girl: She did a 3 hour drive!
N: But it looks really near! 

Guy in black: Because it’s a map!

Guy in black: Somehow I think its better for you to apologise to Shouya-san.

Well that’ll have to go in part two I guess!
