Honestly, my strategy is to 'look for a ranked university with a relevant program, that I can/will be able to get into' first.
Owing to my poor grades, top universities would be pretty impossible for me... So I'm probably looking at tier 2/3 unis. Then location... I have scant knowledge about places in the US so any info would be helpful. I do know that I prefer city life though. What's Portland like?
I hear that the weather in California is fantastic but I'm not sure what schools are there (besides Berkley) and if I can get into anywhere there. Problem with coming from a star studded secondary school/junior college is that my friends went to all the places that I seriously doubt I'd be able to get into...
I've got a lot of research to do in the preparation ahead indeed.... (like, getting to know the US map better for example)
