New site navigation menu...

So I refreshed LJ and... lo and behold! A new site navigation menu...! Hmm new menu. Okay... but wait! Where's the inbox button! It disappeared!

Definitely am glad to hear that LJ is trying to make itself more mobile friendly, considering that so much of the web traffic is mobile these days. Would love to have my inbox button right on the menu bar though, together with a badge about the number of messages I have waiting to be read. Yeah it's there when you hover over your username. But I want it right out there on the menu bar. It'll be great ultimately, if we can pick which buttons we want on the menu bar... that might be asking a bit too much though... but we can but hope.

Loads of people moving out of LJ these days... It makes me really worried about how long this site will live for. All my thoughts and memories... the friends and the communities. So please, redesign the site well, and let's hope a renewal will bring fresh users to the site. May LJ live on!

It's on the web, but they are trying to make the new layouts display better on mobile phones too.
